Ya Chen did quite well receiving 3rd of all the schools in the category of in progress with the cumulative score of 54. Not far from Ya Chen is Chao Lei who took in 5th in progress.
The most impressive individual came from Wo Hong Wu with his #1 cumulative ranking in Geometry in progress with the score of 71 total. In the same category Yao Chen recieved 5th place.
Kelly students are really leaving a mark in the CCML Competitions.
2006-07 Kelly High School's first year in the competition was by far the best of all of Division C even with Kelly's exclusion from contest 1 betting all of the schools. Because of such a high status from a first time school, CCML moved Kelly to Division B to let Kelly excel. The Division C Ranking in order (Kelly, Hubbard, Juarez, Morgan Park, Linblom, and finally Kenwood)
2007-08 Kelly did not do as well as the first year when Kelly came in 6th Place of the schools since for contest 2 Kelly had only 8 points and did not even enter for the final contest. The schools for Division B ranking are as followed, Taft, Amundsen, Mather, Schurz, Lakeview, Kelly, Kenwood, Curie, and Morgan Park.
2008-09 The Year, Kelly dominated the Division where Kelly received the #1 rank which seem a little unlikely when a school with in 3 years could jump a division and receive the #1 rank of both division within 3 years. The Ranking of the schools are as followed, Kelly, Amundsen, Schurz, Pritzker, Taft, Linblom, Mather, Curie, Lakeview, and Morgan Park. The Plaques are in Room 355.
2006-07 Kelly High School's first year in the competition was the best of all schools for Algebra, but that cannot be true for Geometry when Kelly came in second to last in the ranking for the Geometry and 6th place for Algebra II. Pre-Calculus was the top rank Division C and with the combining scores of Algebra and Pre-Calculus to outweigh Kelly's weak point, Kelly came in first of the team standings.
2007-08 Kelly this year did the worse with the lack of student participation. For Algebra, the Kelly did not receive any point value for contest 2, 4, and 5 and for contest 3 there was only 2 points total. In the end Kelly pulled to 5th place with the first contest of 40 points. Kelly for Geometry did fairly well and remains consistent with the attendance with 8-19 point range and only missing the final contest. Kelly managed to take the position of 4th in the end when all the points are calculated. Like Geometry, Kelly's Algebra II team remains consistent and pulled 5th place in the overall status even with two 0s. Kelly remain the same consistent rate as it did for Algebra II and Geometry. Kelly for this year could have done much better if there were less 0s and more students.
2008-09 The Year was the defining year for Kelly as Kelly students took more interest in the math competition and much more students had an interest in math. The big bulk of the points came from Algebra with the highly motivated Freshmen. Geometry did much of its share in ringing up the points by nearly doubling what the second school did. Kelly for Algebra II and Pre-Calculus did not do as well as the Algebra and Geometry teams, but could of did better if there was more people. In the end, Kelly defined itself as one of the top schools in Chicago. Kelly is moving on to Division A to take on the even more aggressive schools such as Payton and Young.
