Future

Kelly is looking forward to more success next year. We are moving into the city's top division and also plan on competing in regional and state contests sponsored by ICTM (Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics). -Mr. Darnall

Brief Introduction

CCML is the Chicago Citywide Math Competition, hence the name. This Math Competition is open to all high school students ranging from all grades, from Freshmen Algebra to Senior Pre-Calculus. The competitions are held nearly every month and the competition total to 5 competitions a year where there are 4 regular competitions and a final one. The 4 regular competitions are held at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and the final competition is held in a different high school each year(2008-09 was at Lane Tech). Transportation is not offered, competitors still have to check in with the proctor, for Kelly it would be Mr. Darnall (creator of the math team and club and found in Room 355 most of the day). Competitions usually take an hour starting at 9 o' clock sharp. The Competition is created in the Form of the Test where each student from different.

Why Join?

In joining you will gain much more then a wasted hour, you would be able to compete with some more "prestigious" schools in the city such as Jones, Whitney Young, and even Payton and prove to them Kelly is smart and have intellectual mathematicians. Kelly was ranked #1 in Division B for Algebra against 9 different schools, more about ranking and function on the information page of the website or the official CCML page. For that same division, Kelly wept the floors with both Jones and Lane with Kelly's total score of 167 from all three contests where Jones and Lane got 135 and 106 respectively in Division A. For Geometry it was even a bigger improvement with Kelly's #1 ranking in Division B beating Jones, Lincoln, and Lane from Division A with Kelly's score of 223 where as Lane Tech, Lincoln Park, and Jones got the score of 159, 153, and 135 respectively. Although Kelly didn't pull in first for the Algebra II competitions, Kelly is still among the top leaders on the charts. The worst of the rankings came from Pre-Calculus with the mere score of 49 totals and scoring below the middle mark. This was not due to the lack of knowledge, but mainly the lack students who attended the competition. there was only Karol Tan (a long time attendee) from Division 001 and William Fang from Division 002 for Algebra II and a 3-4 seniors for pre-calculus. As a result the score for the overall school dropped from the lack of attendance. Why not be apart of it and boost Kelly higher and let the rest of the schools know, Kelly is no joke.
